Swiss PhD Seminar in Agricultural Economics

The Swiss Society for Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology SGA supports the PhD Seminar in Agricultural Economics as part of its activities to promote young scientists. Launched in 2020, the Swiss PhD Seminar in Agricultural Economics  is an annual one-day event.

The aims of the Swiss PhD Seminar in Agricultural Economics are:

  • To support the education of Agricultural Economics PhD students in Switzerland;
  • To provide feedback on PhD students’ papers/draft papers /ideas;
  • To facilitate exchange between and create a network for PhD students; 
  • To offer information targeted at PhD students.

The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), the University of Geneva, Agroscope, and the ETH Zurich are the leading institutions participating in the Swiss PhD Seminar in Agricultural Economics. PhD students at other institutions in the same field may also take part.

The Swiss Society for Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology provides in-kind support to the PhD Seminar and strives to forge links between PhD students and the SGA.
